Aggressively Pursuing A Dream, the Roundup #7

03-30-13 Round Up #4 - Peeps

I had a great week, starting with the refinance of my rental property, and hope you had a wonderful one as well! Of course tomorrow is Easter and a great opportunity to spend some time with family. I’ve rolled out a new format for my end-of-quarter roundup. For the last roundup of the quarter, in addition to highlighting some of the awesome articles around the web, I’d like to mention my three most visited articles of the quarter: Now grab some Peeps and chow down!

Some awesome articles I read this week:

Financial Samurai – Should I Go Back To Work Now That Good Times Are Back? – Sam over at Financial Samuari has worked, saved, and invested tremendously hard to quit the rat race last year. By setting himself with multiple streams of passive income, and monetizing his online endeavors, Sam had everything he needed to be his own boss. After a year, and with the economy roaring, Sam is now evaluating the pros and cons of going back to work in this incredible bull market.

Investor Junkie – Inflation Is A Hidden Tax – What Can You Do About It? – Inflation is downright scary. Kevin Mercadante, of Out Of Your Rut, lays out the unfortunate reality that inflation is the biggest risk to your investment portfolio. As he states in the article, it would take “approximately $231,000 today to buy what $100,000 bought in 1983.” Fight on with those investment portfolios!

Lend Academy – Reality Mogul Brings P2P Lending to Real Estate – Peter shares his interview with Jilliene Helman, co-founder of Reality Mogul, a peer-to-peer platform for investing in real estate. Reality Mogul offers a couple different ways to invest and Peter details how each one works, and ultimately commits some of his own money to one of the available projects.

Girl Meets Debt – Gym Memberships: A Financial Nightmare – Gyms are not known for their over accommodation when looking for refunds or handling an incorrect automatic renewal.  GMD discusses her experience fighting an automatic membership renewal!

WriteYourOwnReality – Popular Posts!

The Right Job – Turning Down a 30% Raise – At the end of February, I was offered an incredibly generous position at a small company. By stripping away my excitement, and using my Right Job Score Sheet, I was able to compare my current position with the new position at home, and ultimately made the hardest decision of my professional career.

Lending Club – 2013 Investment Criteria – One of my first posts laid out my primary and secondary investment criteria for my Roth IRA for 2013. I came up with these criteria after many hours of rough data mining on Lendstats.

Lending Club – February 2013 Update – Updating the progress in both my taxable and Roth IRA accounts with Lending Club. I am very excited to see how these account continue to progress over the next few years.

I hope everyone enjoys Easter weekend and has continued success in pursuing financial independence, successful investing, and a life without limits. Be sure to follow me on Twitter and Facebook!
